New to the East Bay

After years in San Francisco, I am now in the East side of the bridge, a place I never thought I'd be and I'm finding I love it. Besides the fact I feel like a stranger in a new land, I'm excited to explore new markets, stores, parks. I feel the gravitational pull to SF and the Marin Farmer's markets but am determined to broaden my provincial mind set and discover what's on this side of the bridge.....

So today I went to a famed store in Berkeley. It amazes me how premium stores seem to cost the same wherever you go- 12 items $40.00. At Trader Joes you can get a cart full of groceries for the same price! You pay a lot in this low profile neighborhood, shabby chic at it's best : )
